Local Rapper Shot Outside Of North Patchogue Club Early Friday Morning

North Patchogue – Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred outside a club in North Patchogue early Friday morning.
Donte Hobson was standing outside the V.I.P. Lounge, located at 620 Waverly Ave., with a large group of people at approximately 1:30 a.m. when he was shot in the stomach. Hobson, 30, a rapper known as “BOP,” had just performed with a group inside the club.
Several witnesses fled the scene prior to police arrival. The suspect was described as a dark-skinned black male.
Hobson was transported by Holbrook Fire Department to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
