Town Launches Annual Back To School Supply Drive; List Of Locations Accepting Supplies
Farmingville – The Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau’s INTERFACE Back to School Supply Drive will begin on Monday, July 25 and run through Friday, August 26. Collection centers are located in the lobby of Town Hall at One Independence Hill in Farmingville and the Highway Department Facility located at 1140 Old Town Road in Coram.
The Youth Bureau is asking for donations of pens, calculators, backpacks, notebooks, lunch boxes, folders, glue, binders and more. The supplies will be distributed to needy families who might otherwise not be able to provide them to their children before school begins. Last year, the Youth Bureau was able to collect enough supplies to help over 1,500 children prepare for school.

Medford Volunteer Ambulance – 1005 Sipp Avenue in Medford
Coram Fire Department – 303 Middle Country Road in Coram
Astoria Bank – all branches; donations will be given to children in Brookhaven and throughout Long Island
All for You Hair Salon – 161 Long Island Avenue in Holtsville
Internal Revenue Service – 1040 Waverly Avenue in Holtsville
Brookhaven National Lab – 2 Center Street in Upton
Modular Devices, Inc. – 1 Roned Road in Shirley
INTERFACE is a partnership between “good corporate neighbors and the Town of Brookhaven,” united in a common effort to provide help to Brookhaven’s less fortunate residents. Through volunteerism, INTERFACE provides goods and services to those in need. There are approximately 125 corporations, not-for-profit agencies, community and fraternal organizations that make up INTERFACE. It was the recipient of the President’s Private Sector Initiative Award, and it has also been honored by the Eleanor Roosevelt Committee of the Governor’s Office of Voluntary Service.
