Stony Brook’s Carson Puriefoy Signs Professional Contract With Valmiera-Ordo In Latvia
Stony Brook – Former Stony Brook men’s basketball player Carson Puriefoy signed a contract to play professionally in Latvia with Valmiera-Ordo. The team is coming off of a Latvian championship and BBL semifinal appearance last season.
“I’m extremely excited to be a part of a great organization like Valmiera-Ordo,” Puriefoy said upon signing. “I’ve worked my whole like for this moment and I couldn’t be more appreciative for this opportunity. I’m so thankful for all of the people who have helped me get to this point in my life and can’t wait to get to work. I want to also thank Stony Brook University and the athletic department for taking care of me during my time there; definitely the best four years of my life.”
Puriefoy finished his career with the Seawolves having scored 1,572 points, while adding over 300 rebounds and assists. The Wenonah, New Jersey, native earned First Team All-America East honors as he helped the Seawolves claim the league title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in his final season. Puriefoy started all 33 games as a senior, averaging 15.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
