Superintendent Losquadro, Councilwoman Cartright Announce Completion Of Paving Project In Setauket
Setauket – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilwoman Valerie Cartright have announced the completion of an eleven-road paving project in Setauket.
During this project, which required several weeks of concrete work, crews replaced more than 2,700 square feet of aprons and 1,650 linear feet of curb. In addition, underground work for the installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Bennetts Road and Lower Sheep Pasture Road was completed, prior to paving. The total cost for this project was nearly $600,000.
“This paving project provided some much needed relief for residents and motorists in the vicinity of Andrea Drive and Bennetts Road,” said Superintendent Losquadro. “We were successfully able to complete this project over the summer, to avoid any unnecessary disruption in the flow of traffic once school resumed in the vicinity of Minnesauke Elementary School.”
Roads paved during this project include: Andrea Drive, Bennetts Road, Bluetop Road, Captains Walk, Detmer Road, Doolings Path, Hilltop Lane, Michelle Court, Peace Lane, Rising Road and St. George Glen Drive.
“Each time we complete a paving project we improve the quality of life for local residents and there is a positive impact for the larger community,” said Councilwoman Cartright. “I am glad to announce the completion of this project and we look forward to continuing to work with the Highway Department to make district-wide road improvements.”
