Hauppauge – A Farmingville resident who competed in the 2016 Olympic Games will run in the upcoming CHS Suffolk County Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K at the end of the month.
“We are pleased to welcome Maria Michta-Coffey to the CHS Suffolk County Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k on Oct.30 in Patchogue. The Farmingville resident race walked in the Olympics this summer, and is preparing for the National 30k race the following weekend. It’s an honor to have an Olympian among those running to raise funds for Suffolk County veterans. Welcome, Maria!”
The Oct. 30 race, which is a fundraiser for local veterans, includes the Freedom Fest, featuring musicians and other entertainers, and the Taste of Long Island festival, highlighting locally produced foods, wines and craft beers. For more information, see suffolkmarathon.com
