Grand Opening Of Concern For Independent Living Homes For Veterans In Lake Ronkonkoma
Lake Ronkonkoma – On October 26, Supervisor Ed Romaine, Councilman Kevin LaValle and Councilman Neil Foley attended the grand opening of the Concern for Independent Living Liberty Landing housing development in Lake Ronkonkoma. This new development includes 59 units of supportive housing for veterans in need of homes.
Concern for Independent Living, Inc. is a non-profit agency committed to helping individuals and families to live in the community with dignity and enhanced opportunities through the provision of housing and support services. We are one of the largest housing agencies of this kind in New York State, currently serving approximately 850 individuals and families in over 220 locations. Concern offers a variety of housing options with individualized support services designed to support personal growth and independence.
Supervisor Romaine said, “Liberty Landing is a welcoming place that helps veterans get back on their feet. Thanks to the work of Concern for Independent Living, so many people have been able to make a better the transition from military life to civilian life.”
Councilman LaValle said, “Our veterans have sacrificed so much and many of them are in need of a helping hand to get by. I commend Concern for Independent Living for making this project a reality in our community.”
Councilman Neil Foley said, “When returning veterans need a place to live, Concern for Independent Living is there to help them. This is a beautiful place to live and I am sure that the new residents will be very happy here.”
