Supervisor Romaine And Councilman Foley Honor SCPD During Blue Line Unveiling In Blue Point
Blue Point – On November 12, Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilman Neil Foley were at the Blue Point Fire Department headquarters to “unveil” the new blue line painted down the middle of Blue Point Avenue. The line was painted in front of the headquarters to honor the men and women of the Suffolk County Police Department for their service to the community. SCPD 5th Precinct Inspector William Silva was presented with a proclamation and Kristy Giachetto, who suggested to Councilman Foley that the line be painted, received a Certificate of Appreciation.
Supervisor Romaine said, “Police officers lay their lives on the line every day that they put on the uniform and I am always proud to have the opportunity to thank them for their service. The blue line is a fitting reminder of the tough job they do to keep us safe.”
Councilman Foley said, “Thanks to Kristy Giachetto for bringing this idea forward and thanks to our men and women in blue. This is our way of reminding people of the hard and dangerous work that they do for us every day.”
