Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary Fourth-Grader Recognized For Girl Scout Cookie Sales

Shirley – Olivia Phillips, a fourth-grader attending Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School, sold more than three-thousand boxes of cookies, earning her the honor of being on the cover of the Girls Scouts of Suffolk County’s Fall 2016 magazine. Legislator Kate Browning (WF-Shirley) recognized Olivia for her amazing achievement at the Suffolk County Legislature’s December 6th, 2016 general meeting.

To sell the four dollar boxes of cookies, Olivia Phillips stationed herself for a few hours each weekend inside Freshy Fresh Bagel’s in Shirley. For Olivia’s achievement, the cookie cover girl also received an invitation to observe the preparation of floats for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Manhattan. She was joined by fifteen other scouts from the tristate area who also had special achievements this year.

“Olivia is an inspiration to her peers,” stated Legislator Browning. “She proved that hard work and determination can accomplish great things.  It is a tremendous achievement and I know if she works towards all of her goals as hard as she did this year she is going to be a big success in the future.”
