Supervisor Romaine Asks Residents To Be Prepared: 2016 Hurricane Survival Guide Available On Town Website
Farmingville – Hurricane season begins on June 1 and Supervisor Ed Romaine reminds residents that the 2016 Hurricane Survival Guide is now available on the Town’s website at www.brookhaven.org. The guide is designed to help residents prepare for a hurricane and other severe weather incidents. It covers preparations and procedures for virtually every hurricane scenario and includes hurricane surge maps which are useful in understanding how different areas might be impacted by hurricanes of varying intensities. There are also important phone numbers, lists, tips, a Family Disaster Supplies Kit check list, and tear sheets for use at home and at work.

“Brookhaven Town has many miles of coastline, which makes us vulnerable to hurricanes and other severe weather conditions,” said Supervisor Romaine. “Residents need to be informed and prepared to keep their family and property safe, especially after what we experienced as a result of Hurricane Irene and Super Storm Sandy. I encourage everyone to take the time to read the guide and take action now.”
