Mastic Man Identified As Victim In Fatal Islip Terrace Motorcycle Accident
Islip Terrace – Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a motorcyclist in Islip Terrace on Tuesday morning.
Alexander Rivera was operating a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Sunrise Highway, east of Saxon Avenue, when he struck the back bumper of an SUV as motorists were slowing down to traffic at approximately 8:10 a.m. Rivera then struck the back of a tractor-trailer, lost control of his motorcycle and fell off.
Rivera, 41, of Mastic, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV, Fatima Williams, 39, of Mastic and the driver of the tractor-trailer, Stanislaw Golynski, 62, of Rockaway Park, were not injured.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
