Bellport Man Killed In Apparent Industrial Accident At Swim King Pools In Rocky Point
Rocky Point – Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a man died after the forklift he was operating overturned on him in Rocky Point on Thursday.
Josue Rodriguez was operating a forklift at Swim King, located at 475 Rt. 25A when the forklift fell onto its side, pinning him under the roof of the forklift at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Rodriguez, 21, Bellport was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson where he was pronounced dead.
The incident appears to be non-criminal. An autopsy will be conducted by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have been notified.
