Farmingville – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro joined with Councilman Neil Foley and Councilman Kevin LaValle to announce the completion of an 11-road paving project in a residential neighborhood in Farmingville and Ronkonkoma.

This project required extensive work, including tree removal, stump grinding, basin cleaning and replacement of concrete curbs and aprons. While several roadways were able to be milled, others required the more comprehensive, full depth reclamation process (FDR). During FDR, the existing roadway is recycled and mixed with different additives to produce the new pavement—essentially turning the old road into the new base.  Crews then grade the roadway, compacting the material before paving begins with a new asphalt surface.  The total cost for this project was $1.7 million.

Roads paved during this project include: 5th Street, Avalon Court, Campus Lane, Elan Lane, Essex Drive, Lakeside Drive, Monaco Court, Oaklake Lane, Tina Lane and Warren Avenue.

“The roadways in this paving project were in severe need of attention,” said Superintendent Losquadro. “I am glad to bring some relief to the residents in this area who will enjoy a smoother ride going forward.”

Councilman Neil Foley said, “Our number one priority is the safety of our residents and this new roadwork is a great improvement.  I commend Superintendent Losquadro and the Highway Department for a job well done.”

“As a part of our continuing effort to improve the infrastructure in the Town of Brookhaven, I am happy to have worked with Highway Superintendent Losquadro to see this project completed,” said Councilman Kevin LaValle.
