Hauppauge – Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone met with Center Moriches’ own Lauryn Mitchell and her family after her big victory on “Chopped Junior” of the Food Network.

At such a young age, Lauryn already exemplifies the spirit of Suffolk County with a strong dedication to her craft and compassion for others, even when in competition.

In the heat of a tournament, she took the time to donate strawberries to her opponent! Great work, Lauryn. You made Suffolk County proud.

The County Executive presented Lauryn with a proclamation recognizing her performance.
