Thunderstorm Risk In Brookhaven Town Through Early Monday Evening; Cooler Temps And A High Rip Current Risk On Tuesday
Upton – The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Severe Thuderstorm Watch for Brookhaven Town, Suffolk County and the tri-state area until 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening.
As of 4:15 p.m., a line of storms stretching from Orange County in upstate New York to the Philadelphia area were working their way from west to east at a moderate pace.
High winds, approaching 70 MPH are possible, along with isolated heavy downpours.
Once the front moves through the area, we’ll see moderately lower temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday will also bring a high risk of rip currents along the south shore at ocean beaches. Swimmers should exercise caution.
