Flanders Man Succombs To Injuries Sustained After Being Struck By Vehicle Being Driven By Alleged Impaired Driver
Updated: Suffolk County Police Department officials announced that Anibal Aceituno-Perez, 52, of Flanders, has died from the injuries sustained after allegedly being struck by a vehicle being driven by Brianna Hassett, 24, of Wading River.
Ms. Hasseett was charged on Monday with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. There was no word if additional charges would be filed.

Ridge – Suffolk County Police today arrested a woman for driving while ability impaired by drugs after she struck a landscaper in Ridge on Tuesday morning.
Brianna Hassett was driving a 2005 Cadillac eastbound on Route 25, west of Pleasant View Road when she struck a landscaper who was cutting a lawn on the corner of Route 25 and Pleasant View Road at approximately 11:50 a.m.
The landscaper, Anibal Aceituno-Perez, 52, of Flanders, was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead in critical condition.
Hassett, 24, of Wading River, was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. She is being held at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 14.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crash to contact the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555. The investigation is continuing.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
